Last updated: 1 May 2026 · Version 1.0
Our commitment: FAIR exists to advance rights and accountability in technology. We hold ourselves to the same standard. The website is designed to be perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for the widest possible audience, including people who use assistive technology.

1. Conformance

The website is designed to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. We test against this standard during development and on each substantive content update.

2. What we do

3. Known limitations

The website is in active development as the charity launches. Areas we are continuing to improve include:

4. Reporting an accessibility issue

If you encounter a barrier on the website - or you would like content in an alternative format such as large print, audio, or Easy Read - please tell us:

We will acknowledge your report within 5 working days and aim to provide a resolution or detailed response within 20 working days.

5. Enforcement

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the public-sector accessibility regulations. While those regulations do not strictly apply to charities of FAIR’s size, we adopt their substantive standard voluntarily. If you are not satisfied with our response to an accessibility concern, you may contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service.

6. Technical specification

The website is a static site hosted by GitHub Pages, fronted by Cloudflare. It uses HTML5, CSS3, and unobtrusive JavaScript. It is intended to function on the most recent two major versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge, on desktop and mobile, and with screen-reader software including JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver.

7. Preparation of this statement
