AI rights for the United Kingdom.

Supporting the general public through awareness, learning and legislation.

Three objectives. One mission.

AI is reshaping the country, often quietly and often without us. The foundation exists to put that power back in public hands: to surface what's happening, shape the rules around it, and equip people to use it well. We pursue each objective through dedicated projectsOur projects are the dedicated workstreams through which we deliver each objective..

1. Make public-sector AI visible to the public.

When the state adopts AI, the public deserves to know. Most of these decisions are made in plain sight but rarely make the news. Our AI AlertsAI Alerts is a live register of contracts, partnerships, memoranda of understanding, and pilots involving United Kingdom public bodies. Scanned every day. Every entry sourced. tool monitors public sources every day for announcements about government agencies adopting AI. Every item is verified, sorted into a clear category, summarised, and linked back to the source, so you can see what's happening as it happens.

2. Shape fair rules for AI on the public's behalf.

The rules being written now will shape how AI touches your life for decades. AI can do real good, but unchecked it can also entrench bias, erode rights, and concentrate power. We work inside the legislative process, briefing parliamentarians, responding to consultations, and pressing for fair rules, so that the public has a voice where the decisions are actually made.

3. Equip people of every age to understand and use AI.

No one should be left behind by a technology this powerful. New tools tend to arrive without warning or instructions, and AI is no exception. Working with trusted organisations and individuals, we deliver learning that is free, accessible, and built for real life, so that at every age and every stage, people understand what AI is, how it affects them, and how to make it work for them.

Built to ensure fairness, transparency, and accountability.

The Foundation for Artificial Intelligence Rights (FAIR) exists to defend the British public in the age of AI. AI is already woven into daily life, sometimes openly, often without us realising. Deployed at this pace, without proper checks, it can entrench bias, erode rights and concentrate power in fewer and fewer hands. We are the central point that holds that line: surfacing where AI is being used, shaping the rules that govern it, and equipping people to navigate it on their own terms.
