Modern Slavery Statement

Last updated: 1 May 2026 · Version 1.0
This statement is voluntary. FAIR’s annual turnover is below the £36 million threshold at which a slavery and human trafficking statement is required by section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. We publish this statement nevertheless because the principles it reflects are central to a charity that exists to advance enforceable rights.

1. About FAIR

The Foundation for Artificial Intelligence Rights (“FAIR”) is a UK organisation (registration pending). Our charitable purpose is to advance enforceable rights, transparency, and accountability in the development, deployment, and governance of artificial intelligence.

2. Our position

FAIR has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking in any form, including forced labour, debt bondage, child labour, and human trafficking. We do not knowingly engage with any organisation that practises, condones, or profits from such conduct.

3. Our structure and supply chain

FAIR currently has no employees and operates through a small number of contracted service providers, principally in the areas of:

Each of these is an established commercial provider operating under the laws of the United Kingdom, the European Union, or the United States. We assess each on its public commitments to ethical sourcing and labour standards before engaging it.

4. Our approach

5. Reporting concerns

If you have any reason to suspect that modern slavery or human trafficking is occurring in connection with FAIR or with any of our suppliers, please contact us in confidence at info@airights.org.uk. We will follow our Complaints Procedure and, where appropriate, escalate the matter to the Modern Slavery Helpline (08000 121 700) or to the police.

6. Approval and review

This statement is approved by the Founder, Scott McCulloch, on behalf of FAIR pending the appointment of the Board of Trustees. It will be reviewed and re-approved annually by the Board once constituted, and earlier if the structure of FAIR or its supply chain changes materially.
